Greetings to you my sisters and brothers in faith,
Here we are, another season is upon us. Autumn is a time for me to engage in reflection of life, take stock about how things are going and to be intentional about what I would like it to be in the future. It is also a time to be aware of the blessings that I have and give thanks for them.
This year, as I am surrounded by the colours of the season I realize that my life is full of God's blessings for which I am thankful. I share two such blessings with you. First, in June I married your longtime parishioner Susan Lewis. Second in August, I moved from serving the Parish of Combermere as their priest, to serve you here at Christ Church Aylmer. I look forward to meeting those of you whom I have not met yet.
This fall is a season of change for all of us at Christ Church. Prior to my arrival you were served faithfully by Reverend Carol. For three years you enjoyed blessings with her as your priest. Christ Church continues its journey as a Christian community and its ministry. We celebrate this new relationship and the ministry that we have together on November 8 at 4pm, the day after the Christ Church Bazaar. Your presence would be a blessing, not only to me but to all who call Christ Church Aylmer their spiritual home as we get to worship together and celebrate who we are as a Christian community and our new ministry together. Time and experience will show us what blessings God has in store for us as we journey forward together. My hope is that our time together will be a deepening of faith and drawing closer to God, the One who loves us. Part of my work will be to journey with you both as a community and as individuals who seek to make sense of their faith and deepen it. I look forward to helping in anyway that I am able.
Before we celebrate our ministry together we will be gathering for Thanksgiving, with our families and friends and as a faith community. During this time, I invite you to reflect on the blessings that God has placed in your life this year.
